Holmen, La Crosse fire crews respond to fire at trailer home

One person is safe but a cat is missing after a fire in a trailer home in Holmen Friday morning.

The call came in just before 8 a.m. for a fire on Manchester Lane.

The one person in the home at the time made it out safely.

Firefighters say they saw flames coming from the kitchen once they got inside.

"Initially our dispatch information was a fire above a stove," said Captain Jeremy Cook from the Holmen Area Fire Department. "When we got here, there were some cabinets on fire above the stove and fire extending through the roof."

According to a release, investigators believe the fire was caused by something cooking on the stove top.
