Chief Meteorologist Bill Graul to leave WKBT News 8 Now after 25 years

After 25 years with WKBT, Chief Meteorologist Bill Graul announced he's retiring from the station on May 24.

"La Crosse/Eau Claire viewers have grown up with Bill's forecasts for a quarter of a century," said WKBT News Director Jason Walker. "He has a legacy here and he will be missed by all of us."

Bill began his career at WKBT in 1998 and was quickly promoted to Morning Meteorologist, where he spent more than two decades greeting viewers each day with his early forecasts. He was promoted to Chief Meteorologist in 2021.

"I worked hard every day to provide a reliable, detailed and accurate forecast our viewers could count on," said Graul. "I just want to say 'thank you' for trusting me all these years. The Coulee Region will always be my home away from home and I will be back to visit often."
