Keep your vehicle in top shape for winter driving

The winter season is here and with that is the need to make sure everyone's vehicles are ready for the winter.

Drivers should be sure to check tire pressure, tire tread, battery, oil, anti-freeze, and other things before winter gets into full swing according to maintenance experts.

Drivers should also be sure to carry things like jumper cables and other items for the winter in their car.

Noah Murphy of Murphy's Frame and Axle suggests drivers bring their cars in to get checked. He says if a car has "a little bit of a hiccup or a problem now, as it gets colder it could turn into a dead battery or a dead part depending on what you're dealing with. So it's good to get a good look over everything."

It's also a good idea to warm up your car before driving anywhere. This can help you find any issues going on with your vehicle and make sure it is safe to drive.

Noah Murphy says that one of the biggest issues he's encountered in the winter with cars is ice buildup in the wheel wells, "The buildup behind the tires, and in the wheel wells that you see. When you turn that wheel left or right with how cold it gets, that could cause an accident with how much ice chunk gets in there, so you want your steering to be one hundred percent free."

As it gets colder drivers should be wary of what is going on with their car and make sure they are driving carefully in the winter as conditions become less ideal.
