McDonald's confirm they are changing their burgers with roll out in coming weeks

The changes McDonald's has made to their burgers will be rolled out in restaurants nationwide in the coming weeks. In April 2023, the fast food brand said they were making changes to their burgers, to make them juicier and taste better.

The changes, which were met with a mixed reception, were first rolled out in West Coast locations in 2023. The burger alterations will now be introduced to restaurants all over the country in the early weeks of 2024.

"We can do it quick, fast, and safe, but it doesn’t necessarily taste great. So, we want to incorporate quality into where we’re at,” Chris Young, McDonald’s senior director of global menu strategy, told The Wall Street Journal .

McDonald's will change the way they prepare and cook the burgers. Now, six patties will be grilled at one time, instead of the brand's standard eight. The reason for this is that the the auto-cooking mechanism will apply less pressure because there are fewer patties and this is predicted to make the burgers juicier.

  • Experts predict that price of Big Mac could rise at McDonald's to whopping $15

Added to this, the buns will be changed to buttery brioche buns, with their thicker bottoms aimed at retaining more heat. McDonald's has also confirmed there will be changes to their tomatoes, lettuce, and cheese.

The cheese, they say, will be meltier, while the lettuce and pickles will be fresher. The onions will be rehydrated after they are purchased and the Big Macs will have more sauce on them. The brioche buns will have their sesame seeds further separated.
