BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis.
Maintenance issues will close the Hoffman Aquatic Center for the second year in a row.
In a release Friday, the City of Black River Falls indicated the aquatic center would close due to ongoing maintenance issues, and that closure could last the entire summer. The pool closed in June of 2023 due to a leak.
The city brought in crews to make repairs, which were completed earlier this year.
Despite those efforts, the pool still loses 20,000 gallons of water per day, according to city officials.
The leak provides challenges in terms of maintaining required disinfection levels and water temperatures.
2024 season passes or punch cards can be refunded at city hall.
The indoor pool at the Lunda Community Center is still available.
