Five Wisconsin Eateries Featured On The Show Diner Drive Ins and Dives Show

The long-running Guy Fieri show Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives is one of the ultimate comfort shows. Like the hearty, comfort food it often showcases, it's become a staple of Food Network's schedule. The show revolves around Guy Fieri traveling all over America looking for the best greasy spoon restaurants in the country.

There's been several occasions where Fieri has come to the state of Iowa in search of some delicious eats. I decided to take a look at five Iowa restaurants he's eaten at on the show. Here are five eateries in Wisconsin that were featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives:

Frank's Diner in Kenosha, WI:

As somebody who used to frequent Kenosha with his parents, back when I lived just outside of Chicago, I'm kind of embarrassed never to have been to Frank's Diner. The eatery just made Reader's Digest's list of most iconic diners in 2023. Frank's is billed as the oldest continuously operated diner in the United States (it opened in 1926).

Specializing in comfort food for the soul, including breakfast, burgers, and "Garbage Plates," Frank's Diner looks like the ideal spot for a bite to eat. Fieri certainly thought so too. Furthermore, you have to admire a place that has this statement on their website when you pull up the "Specials" tab:

Delta Diner in Delta, WI:

Another diner Fieri visited during one of his trips to the Cheese State, Delta Diner in Delta, WI is a retro-style diner in "the middle of nowhere." It's located in northwestern Wisconsin, between Ashland and Superior. Offering specialty sandwiches, a delicious breakfast, and more for nearly 20 years, Delta prides itself on serving up food for "the unpretentious foodie." There's nothing more quintessentially Midwest than that.

Comet Café in Milwaukee, WI:

Despite closing in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Comet Café in Milwaukee, WI has since reopened and continues to do a bang-up business. Since reopening in 2022, Comet Café prides itself on delicious baked goods and drinks. They serve pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and pies as well!

Anchor Bar and Grill in Superior, WI:

If you're a burger lover, you almost have to stop by Anchor Bar and Grill if you haven't. Anchor Bar prides itself on having a variety of burgers at an affordable price. They boast 19 different varieties with the slogan "the best burgers and fires in the Twin Ports."

When Fieri stopped by the restaurant, he raved about a burger piled high with green olives and cream cheese and the Gally Buster, a one-pound triple cheeseburger.

Kounty Quarthouse in South Range, WI:

Unfortunately, the Wisconsin dive with probably the coolest name that Guy Fieri visited in his travels closed several years ago. The Kounty Quarthouse in South Range, WI was more than just a cute name. It was a restaurant that took its legal theme to the next level. Apparently, they offered wings known as "Assault & Battery;" side dishes known as "Cellmates," and "Behind Bars Food," "Jury Selection," and more.

You can read a nostalgic little write-up of the Kounty Quarthouse here.
